Castle Combe may feel tucked away, but it's still possible — and enjoyable — to visit without driving. With a bit of planning, you can reach the village by train, taxi, or even on foot.

For those who enjoy a countryside walk, it is possible to walk from Chippenham to Castle Combe (around 5 miles / 8 km).
Please note:
Public bus services to Castle Combe are very limited and not always reliable for day trips. For most visitors, the train and taxi option is the simplest.
Travelling without a car takes a little extra planning, but it also lets you enjoy the journey and the surrounding countryside at a slower pace.
