The Old Stables Coffee Shop

Opening in 2017, Philippa and Yasmin wanted to create a cosy home away from home experience for those visiting the picturesque village of Castle Combe.

Relax on the sofa with the paper, warm up by the log burner in the colder months or bask in the sunshine with an iced latte come summer.

You will always find one of us behind the counter and we welcome everyone with a warm smile — mucky dogs, sweaty cyclists and even the odd ponies are ushered in.

Our coffee is locally roasted, cakes locally made and a small selection of produce and gifts is available.

The Little Picnic Shop

Halfway along Castle Combe's main street, our takeaway service keeps things simple and special. We serve just one thing: our beautifully prepared Afternoon Tea Picnic Box, complete with a drink. The picnic is vegetarian by default and can be pre-ordered or, subject to availability, ordered on the day, at £22 per person.

For guests with specific dietary needs, we also offer a range of special picnic boxes, including gluten free, gluten and dairy free, dairy free, and vegan options. These must be pre-ordered with at least 24 hours' notice to ensure everything is prepared just right.

To elevate the experience, you can choose our fully kitted hamper hire, available when ordering two or more picnics. The hamper option costs an additional £4 per person and must be returned to us on the same day.

If you're wondering where to enjoy your feast, we're happy to recommend charming picnic spots either within a short walk or a scenic 10-minute drive. Simply get in touch to place your order or check availability.

The Old Rectory Tearoom

A private afternoon tea experience in Castle Combe.

My name is Anna, and I am your host at The Old Rectory Tearoom, located within The Old Rectory House, our historic private family home in the heart of Castle Combe, dating back to 1490.

We offer something quite different from a traditional tearoom. Our tearoom is not open to the general public and is available exclusively for private reservations, giving guests the rare opportunity to step inside and experience one of Castle Combe’s historic homes for themselves.

We take reservations for a minimum of 6 adult guests and up to 18, which is our maximum capacity, with exclusive use of the tearoom for up to two hours. The cost is £37.50 per adult, with a minimum booking value equivalent to 6 adults.

Smaller groups are also very welcome to reserve with us, although the minimum charge for 6 adults will still apply as the tearoom is reserved exclusively for your party.

The experience is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, special occasions, groups of friends and private tour groups, or for visitors looking for a more personal and unusual way to experience Castle Combe.

For those interested in local history, particularly overseas visitors and tour groups, I am always delighted to give a short informal talk about the history of Castle Combe and The Old Rectory House during your time with us.

There are several parking options available for guests, and I will provide full details when you reserve with us depending on the number of guests and cars in your party.

For all enquiries please contact Anna on 07949 052121 or email annaroberts@btinternet.com.
